MPS OPPOSE DECISION TO DEPORT EXPATRIATES

Kuwait City: MPs protest against the deportation of a Jordanian citizen for expressing his views. Interior Minister Sheikh Tamar al-Ali has ordered the deportation of a Jordanian man who took part in a protest in Erada Square against restrictions on non-vaccinators.


However, MPs Abdul Kareem Al Kandari, Abdul Aziz Al Saqabi, Mohammed Al Sayer, Tamar Al Suwait Fars Al Daihani and Obaid Al Wasmi came out against the decision. Al-Wasmi said the minister's decision was against the international declaration of human rights. Freedom of expression is a human right. He added that there should be no distinction between citizens and expatriates.

Al-Daihani said the expatriate who decided to deport had not committed any crime. The MP criticized a decision that affected him and said he had a right to it.
