RENEWAL OF WORK PERMIT FOR PERSON ABOVE 60 IN KUWAIT, ANNUAL COST MAY BE 1000 DINARS

Kuwait City: The cost of renewing work permits for expatriates over the age of 60 who have not graduated from university will cost about 500 dinars, according to Kuwaiti media. Six companies have agreed to pay 500 dinars for this category of insurance coverage, which was previously reported to be 1200 dinars. Kuwait Insurance Company, Gulf Insurance Group, Al Ahila Insurance, Warba Insurance, Al Aula Takful Insurance and Takful Insurance have announced that they will provide insurance for 500 dinars. 


At present the Ministry of Health charges 50 Kuwaiti Dinars per year from all expatriates for insurance. It is not clear whether this amount will be paid by those above 60 years of age. Currently, the Manpower Authority has imposed a fee of 500 dinars and a health insurance policy to renew the work permits of expatriates who have not graduated from university after the age of 60.
