THE GRAND MOSQUE IN MAKKAH IS DISINFECTED AND STERILISED TEN TIMES PER DAY

Riyadh: According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Grand Mosque in Makkah is disinfected and sterilised ten times per day to keep pilgrims and worshippers safe.


Cleaning operations are carried out by 4,000 male and female workers who are overseen by 200 senior employees.

During the previous Islamic month, 300 washing and disinfection operations were performed at the Grand Mosque and its courtyards, utilising 2,400,000 litres of high-quality disinfectant and cleaning products. 

According to the report, the mosque was also perfumed with 45,000 litres of scent and 100 fragrance diffusers were used inside.

During the cleaning operations, 500 appliances and pieces of equipment were used, and each operation took 25 minutes to ensure that worshippers were not disturbed.
