SWITZERLAND IS IN HIGH DEMAD AMONG GULF VISITORS

Jeddah: Switzerland is popular with Gulf visitors, with visitor numbers from the region approaching pre-pandemic levels in 2019.


Swiss borders reopened in late June for fully vaccinated Gulf Cooperation Council tourists and those with a negative COVID-19 test result, and visitors from the region accounted for 27,139 overnight hotel stays between July and September.

Through tourism strategies and a new campaign called "Swisstainable," the country hopes to increase its visitor share from GCC countries, particularly Saudi Arabia. 

Switzerland Tourism and its partners are in Saudi Arabia with a roadshow highlighting the country's beauty and diversity.

The roadshow is organised and hosted by Switzerland Tourism GCC, and delegates will meet with Saudi travel representatives and tourism agencies.
