Kuwait extends eligibility for booster doses to 16-year-olds

KUWAIT,:The health ministry announced on Wednesday that everyone in Kuwait aged 16 and up is now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, describing the move as a preventive measure aimed at protecting public health.

The country's vaccination centre at Mishref International Fair Grounds is providing the boosters without an appointment, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, who added that those wishing to get the shot at other designated facilities should make an appointment on the ministry's website.

In an effort to halt the spread of the Omicron variant, Kuwait announced earlier this week that a COVID-19 vaccine booster would be required for incoming travellers as well as outbound travellers.
