Kuwait puts to death 5 prisoners, including 2015 mosque bombing convict

The Public Prosecution of Kuwait announced the execution of five prisoners on Thursday, including an individual convicted of the 2015 bombing of a Shiite mosque in which 27 people were killed and the perpetrators of the attack were identified as members of the Islamic State group.

The five prisoners were executed at the Central Prison in Kuwait City, according to the Public Prosecution. The five include the individual convicted of the attack on the mosque, Abdulrahman Sabah Idan, three individuals convicted of murder, and a convicted drug trafficker from Sri Lanka. The Public Prosecution further stated that one of the convicted murderers is an Egyptian national and the other is a Kuwaiti national.
