1,387 people submitted 2,072 checks without balance in the first 6 months of 2023

Official data revealed that about 52,000 bank customers issued 2.19 million checks worth 13.2 billion dinars during the first 6 months of the current year 2023, while 1,387 people issued about 2,072 checks without balance during the period from January to the end of June 2023, and 330 bank accounts were closed. 312 clients for issuing 979 checks without balance during the same period.

In detail, data issued by the Central Bank of Kuwait showed that the number of checks circulating in the banking sector in Kuwait during the period from January to the end of June 2023 witnessed a decline of about 5,428 checks, to become 2.191 million checks by the end of June 2023, compared to 2.196 million checks by the end of June 2022.
