New Delhi : Eight opposition MPs, includingTrinamool Congress floor leader Derek O’Brien and AAP’s Sanjay Singh, weresuspended from Rajya Sabha for a week under Rule 256(2) on Monday for their behaviour during the fierce protests over the farm bills on Sunday.Thegovernment moved a motion for their suspension for “bringing disrepute” to the House.The motion was approved by the House amid protests from Opposition leaders.However,the no-confidence motion against deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh filedby the Opposition was not accepted by the chair.Apart from O’Brien and Singh,Congress leaders Rajeev Satav, Syed Nasir Hussain and Ripun Borah, CPIM’s KKRagesh and Elamaram Kareem and Trinamool’s Dola Sen were suspended.
