VISITORS ON VISITING VISAS CAN USE BOTH INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSES AND FOREIGN LICENSES

Riyadh: Saudi traffic officials say visitors to Saudi Arabia can use international driving licenses and foreign licenses approved in Saudi Arabia. Visiting visa holders are allowed to drive on country roads using foreign and international licenses in this manner for a maximum of one year after entering Saudi Arabia or until their license expires.


Visitors to Saudi Arabia are not allowed to obtain a driver's license. Only foreigners with a work permit and a resident permit (ICAMA) can take the driving test and obtain a license. It also takes ten days to go to an approved driving school. That is why those who arrive on a visitor visa are allowed to drive if they have a foreign driving license
