The online renewal of driving licences for expats will resume soon

KUWAIT CITY  – Everyone will be able to renew their driver's licence online within a few days. Drivers on Article 20 (domestic workers) are currently being renewed online. Those who want to renew their driver's licence must do so six months before it expires, rather than one month as previously.

According to Al Rai, the reason for renewing six months before expiry is to limit expat driving licences and issue to those who meet the conditions while withdrawing from those who do not. After linking the data with the appropriate authorities, the Traffic Department will begin accepting online requests for driving licence renewals this week or by the beginning of next year at the latest. Those who fail to meet the requirements of their driver's licence will have their licence automatically revoked.
