NATIONAL HOLIDAYS, 70% LESS WASTE THAN PREVIOUS YEAR IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti citizens and residents celebrated the National Day on Gulf Street as part of the National Day celebrations. Following this, the municipal branches in all the governorates conducted extensive clean-up campaigns in all areas. It is estimated that the amount of garbage collected from the streets is 70 percent less than in previous years. The third ring road on Gulf Street was cleared from Messila.


Parking lots, lawns, streets, and beaches were also cleaned. Garbage was collected in 2,000 garbage bags along with cleaning vehicles such as manual sweepers, forklifts and trailers. Most of the balloons, plastic pennants and foam spray cans were collected from the roads. Garbage was removed from farms in 700 garbage bags. Garbage was collected in 900 garbage bags from the spring camp sites.
