KUWAIT CALLS FOR RESPECT FOR UKRAINE'S SOVEREIGNTY AND INDEPENDENCE

Kuwait's UN envoy Mansour al - Otaibi has called on Ukraine to respect its sovereignty and independence. He was speaking at an emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly on the conflict in Ukraine. Ambassador Mansour al-Otaibi said the bloodshed was the only recourse and that diplomatic talks were the only way to end the conflict. 

Everyone must abide by the UN Charter and international law. Disputes should be resolved through peaceful negotiations. Avoid threats and coercion. The ultimate mission is the safety of the citizens. Millions of refugees will suffer if the conflict continues. He called for steps to be taken to address these issues, as well as measures to end the conflict.

Welcoming the recent Ukrainian-Russian peace talks in Belarus, he expressed hope that more rounds of talks would be held at the diplomatic level to resolve the issue.
