SOUTH BATINA PROVIDES NEW CHANCES FOR INVESTMENT

Muscat: Governor Sheikh Issa bin Hamad Al Azri said that a number of initiatives have been launched in the governorate of South Batinah to attract investment and stimulate tourism. The Governorate intends to achieve the goals of the development programs focused on by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. In the five-year plan, the amount allocated for development projects in each governorate was increased from ten million riyals to 20 million riyals from this year. 


Azri said 36 projects are underway to develop several important sites in the governorate, some of which are in the final stages of completion. The governorate has also signed 11 agreements to implement several investment projects at a cost of four million riyals. South Bathina will also provide 20 investment sites across the governorate this year for projects aimed at providing public services, supporting small and medium enterprises and providing employment.

Projects currently in progress include roads to the interior of the Rustaq district. Road projects in Musanna and Barka districts are also in the pipeline. Last year, 329 plots in the governorate were evacuated. 13,962 field visits were made to various regions as part of monitoring trade activities. 30,411 species unfit for human consumption were seized and destroyed.
