UAE PUBLIC PROSECUTION WITH STRICT ACTION AGAINST FAKE ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION ONLINE

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Public Prosecution has taken action against people who use fraudulent advertisements and promotions to deceive consumers on the internet.


Violations can result in fines ranging from 20,000 dirhams (about Rs 4.25 lakh) to 5 lakh dirhams (roughly Rs 1 crore) or both. It is illegal to sell goods or services based on misleading information.

Those who conduct business in the UAE through illegitimate methods will face severe consequences. The public prosecution has also begun to raise awareness about this on social media.
