Doha: The shakes caused by the earthquakes in Iran this morning were felt in the Gulf countries, including Qatar. Two earthquakes were reported in the morning by many UAE residents on social media. The earthquakes were reported in the UAE by residents of Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras al-Khaimah.

Panicky residents fled their homes and spent long hours out in the open in several parts of the UAE. Some claim that the shaking of furniture, for example, jolted them awake. While several people said the tremors lasted only a few seconds, others said the impact lasted five minutes.

Since Saturday morning, there have been five earthquakes in southern Iran. Their levels of intensity ranged from 4.3 to 6.3. According to the UAE's National Meteorological Center, two of these earthquakes, which occurred at 1.32 a.m. and 3.24 a.m., had a magnitude of 6.3. These two earthquakes are thought to have caused the tremors felt in the UAE. There was no further damage reported anywhere in the UAE. The tremor was felt in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, and Afghanistan, in addition to the UAE, according to the American Geological Agency.

At the same time, there are reports that five people were killed in the earthquake in Iran. 12 people were admitted to hospitals with injuries. Officials informed that the rescue operation is going on in these places and the number of dead and injured is likely to rise.
