The Philippines suspends the accreditation of recruitment offices in Kuwait

Kuwait City, Feb 1: The Philippine government has suspended the accreditation of foreign recruitment agencies in Kuwait, following the murder of the Filipina worker, Jollibee Ranara.
A spokesperson for the Migrant Workers Administration, Toby Nebreda, confirmed the implementation of new regulations for foreign recruitment agencies.

In an advisory, Catherine Duladole, in charge of the Office of Migrant Workers in Kuwait, announced new regulations for the accreditation process, job applications and employment contracts by foreign employment agencies effective January 29. According to the new rules, only foreign employment agencies with a clean record and who do not have workers residing in shelters will be allowed.
