HOTELS IN ABU DHABI GETS CERTIFIED FOR SERVING KOSHER FOOD

Hotels in Abu Dhabiwill soon be certified for serving kosher cuisine, as the Department of Cultureand Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is launching a hotel koshercertification process in the capital.An agreement with theEmirates Agency for Kosher Certification gives Abu Dhabi’s hotel industryaccess to free certification services for a 12-month period, startingimmediately.

To achieve koshercertification, food and beverage outlets in hotels must designate an area inthe kitchen that is strictly for kosher food preparation that complies withkashrut – Jewish dietary laws.Menus must alsohighlight to diners which dishes are kosher.The news follows arecent directive issued to Abu Dhabi hotels to start offering kosher cuisine onroom service menus and in restaurants.
