UAE President Pardons 1,295 Prisoners Ahead of Ramadan

  • 27/02/2025

In a humanitarian move marking the spirit of Ramadan, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed has ordered the release of 1,295 prisoners on February 27. Along with their release, all fines and penalties imposed on them will be covered, allowing them a fresh start. This initiative reflects the country's values of mercy and compassion, especially during the holy month.

This annual gesture is a continuation of the UAE's tradition of granting clemency on religious and national occasions. Last year, a similar order saw 735 inmates released before Ramadan, demonstrating the leadership’s commitment to promoting rehabilitation and giving individuals a chance to reintegrate into society.

Such pardons highlight the UAE’s emphasis on forgiveness and social harmony. By granting inmates the opportunity to reunite with their families during this sacred time, the initiative reinforces the values of generosity and renewal, key principles of Ramadan and the nation’s vision of justice and compassion.
