Sharjah has announced a six-day holiday for its public sector employees to mark Eid Al-Fitr. According to the Human Resources Department of the Sharjah Government, the official holiday will span from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3, with employees resuming work on Shawwal 4. If Eid falls on Sunday, March 30, government employees will receive five days off, from Friday, April 28, to Tuesday, April 1. However, if it falls on Monday, March 31, they will enjoy a six-day break from Friday, March 28, to Wednesday, April 2. Employees working on a shift basis are exempt from this schedule.

Similar Eid holiday announcements have been made across the region. In Saudi Arabia, the official holiday runs from March 29 (Ramadan 29) to April 2, with the possibility of an extended eight-day break if the weekend is included. Meanwhile, the UAE has declared a holiday from March 30 to April 1, which, when combined with the preceding weekend, becomes a four-day break. If Ramadan extends to 30 days, the holiday will last until April 2, resulting in a five-day break. The extended holidays provide an opportunity for employees to celebrate Eid with their families and observe the festive traditions
