Dubai has rolled out updated health regulations focused on expatriates and visitors as part of a new law aimed at strengthening public health and disease prevention across the emirate. The Public Health Law (5) of 2025 was enacted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
This new law establishes strict protocols for detecting, reporting, and controlling infectious diseases. It emphasizes the shared responsibility of individuals and authorities in preventing the spread of illnesses and aligns Dubai’s public health measures with global standards.
Key requirements for residents and visitors:
Anyone infected or suspected of infection must avoid contact with others and seek permission from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) before traveling.
Concealment or unintentional spread of infections is prohibited.
Individuals must follow all disease prevention guidelines from health authorities.
Travelers must:
Follow official health protocols upon arrival.
Provide accurate health details at entry points.
Report any suspected infections.
Wear masks and maintain physical distancing when required.
The law is set to come into effect 90 days after publication in the Official Gazette and is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to enhance health security and safeguard public well-being.
