Dubai to Be Divided into Rural and Urban Zones for Enhanced Security and Traffic Management

Dubai Police has announced a strategic initiative to divide the emirate into rural and urban zones to enhance public safety, optimize traffic management, and improve the deployment of emergency and police services. The plan was revealed through the official Dubai Police X account and aligns with the broader goals of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

The announcement was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigations. Senior officials including Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Major General Dr. Al-Mahdi, Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mualla, Brigadier Turki bin Faris, and Colonel Ahmed Al Muhairi were present.

Major General Al Mansouri emphasized the importance of this division, stating that it allows Dubai Police to tailor their services based on the distinct needs of each zone. Urban areas will likely require different policing strategies and resources than rural ones. The move will enhance the efficiency of traffic control, crime prevention, and emergency response, helping maintain Dubai's status as one of the safest cities globally.

Brigadier Bin Faris highlighted that the zoning system is part of a long-term vision to support innovation in police services and meet the challenges posed by Dubai’s rapid growth. The plan includes leveraging modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to further strengthen operations.

The new division aims to increase operational effectiveness, ensure faster emergency services, and enhance community satisfaction as Dubai continues to expand and evolve.
