UAE Residents to Enjoy 4 Days Off for Eid Al Adha 2024

  • 08/05/2025

Eid Al Adha, one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar, is approaching, and UAE residents are already planning their holiday time. According to the UAE's official public holiday calendar, the break for Eid Al Adha is expected to last for four days.

Astrological calculations from the Emirates Astronomy Society predict that Eid Al Adha will begin on Friday, June 6, 2025, with Arafat Day falling on Thursday, June 5. The celebrations will run through the weekend, from Friday to Sunday (June 6 to 8).

Since the UAE weekend typically falls on Friday and Saturday, most employees will get the four-day break from June 5 to June 8, aligning with the weekend. However, these dates are based on astronomical predictions, and the official confirmation of the holiday will depend on moon sighting.

In line with the UAE Cabinet's Resolution No. 27/2024, which outlines the public and private sector holiday schedule for 2025, there will be no additional days off beyond the confirmed public holiday period. If any of the Eid holidays fall on the weekend, there will be no replacement holiday on other days.

Therefore, the final duration of the holiday will be confirmed once the moon sighting is announced, and residents can then look forward to their official Eid Al Adha break.
