The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to construct a new theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Miraal Company. This will be Disney's first theme park in the Middle East, and it is expected to become the seventh Disney entertainment destination worldwide.
The announcement was made during an official event attended by Khaled bin Muhammad bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Disney CEO Bob Iger. Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, also participated in the launch. The development will help solidify Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for family and cultural tourism.
When completed, the park is expected to attract tourists from the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, and Europe, significantly boosting the UAE's tourism sector. The new Disney theme park will join existing Disney parks in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. The project is set to transform the region's tourism landscape and add an exciting new attraction for visitors from around the world.
