The Intercontinental Aviation Academy (IAA) has unveiled a major scholarship initiative aimed at increasing the number of Arab women in the aviation industry. Announced at the Women in Aviation Middle East Conference & Awards in Dubai, the program offers financial support of up to AED 500,000 per student, covering tuition, flight training, and mentorship throughout the learning journey.

At the heart of the scholarship is a fully funded EASA ATPL Modular Program valued at over USD 105,000, which includes all necessary tuition and flight training to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot License. In addition, the program provides ten fully funded “Fundamentals of Aviation” courses, each valued at USD 35,000.

The initiative, announced by IAA CEO Capt. Dr. Zeina Mehio and Women in Aviation Middle East Chapter President Mervat Sultan, aims to inspire women across the Arab world to enter aviation. All training will take place at IAA’s state-of-the-art facilities in the UAE.

An advisory committee from the Women in Aviation Middle East organization will evaluate applications and select winners. Along with tuition support, recipients will benefit from structured mentorship and internship opportunities, ensuring they receive career guidance and placement support within the aviation industry.

Applications will open within two days, and winners will be announced at the annual Women in Aviation Middle East gathering in November. IAA emphasized that this program represents a turning point for aspiring female aviation professionals in the Arab world and contributes toward building a more inclusive and representative aviation sector.
