Abu Dhabi has introduced the 'Golden List of Food Products' initiative to accelerate the entry of compliant food products through its ports. The program, launched by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Customs, allows qualified products to bypass routine inspections and proceed directly to the local market.
To qualify for the Golden List, food products must meet specific criteria including five consecutive shipments complying with standard specifications, possession of a health certificate from the manufacturing country, and submission of import applications through the "Atlab" trade platform 24 hours before shipment arrival. Companies with listed products benefit from reduced waiting times, lower clearance costs, and priority pre-release while maintaining food safety standards.
The initiative aims to enhance trade flows and improve the business environment in Abu Dhabi. Any violations discovered will result in immediate removal from the list and subjection to standard inspection procedures. This program represents Abu Dhabi's commitment to facilitating efficient trade while ensuring consumer protection and food safety.
