Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Terra Tech Ltd to launch battery-swapping stations for electric bikes across strategic locations in the emirate. This first-of-its-kind initiative in the region aims to promote zero-emission fleets and support the delivery sector's transition to sustainable, cost-efficient alternatives.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA's Licensing Agency, stated that the project aligns with the Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030, which targets a 30 percent reduction in carbon emissions through infrastructure development at 36 locations across Dubai. The partnership will deliver an integrated battery-swapping system designed to meet the operational needs of delivery companies while reducing total ownership costs for operators.

Terra Tech CEO Husam Al Zammar expressed pride in collaborating with RTA on this transformative project, noting the authority's achievements in sustainable transport infrastructure. The initiative is expected to significantly benefit delivery companies by providing efficient charging alternatives, reducing environmental impact, and encouraging a more sustainable transport sector in line with Dubai's green vision.
