Book Now: UAE's 9-Day December Holiday to Cause Major Flight Price Surge

  • 06/10/2025

A nine-day holiday in the UAE this December is expected to trigger a sharp increase in flight prices as residents plan their vacations. Travel agencies are advising passengers to book their tickets now, warning that those who wait until the end of November could see fares rise by 30-40%, with a potential 50% increase closer to the peak travel dates of December 20-28. For example, a current Dubai-to-London round-trip costing 2,800 dirhams could jump to between 3,800 and 4,200 dirhams.

The extended break is created by the UAE National Day holiday falling on a Tuesday and Wednesday (December 2-3). By also taking annual leave for the adjacent Monday (December 1), Thursday (December 4), and Friday (December 5), residents can create a nine-day holiday period by including the two surrounding weekends. This long break, combined with the Christmas and New Year period, creates the highest travel demand of the year.

Industry leaders from platforms like Musafir and Cleartrip strongly recommend booking international flights 6 to 8 weeks in advance, especially for this peak season. They emphasize that this is the optimal window to secure competitive prices before high demand and limited seat availability cause fares to skyrocket. Acting now is crucial for travelers hoping to avoid the steep last-minute price hikes.
