AUTHORITIES HAVE BANNED THE USE OF COOKING GAS CYLINDERS AT SHRINES DURING HAJJ SEASON

Riyadh: The Directorate General of Civil Defense has confirmed that access and use of cooking gas cylinders of all sizes has been banned in pilgrim camps and government agency offices. The Civil Defense said the ban would take effect from the morning of the first day of Dhul-Hijjah.


The decision to ban the entry and use of LPG in the holy places during the Hajj season will be implemented in coordination with the security authorities. The Civil Defense has warned that all prohibited items, including gas stoves and cylinders that can be used for cooking purposes, will be confiscated. The Civil Defense has said that there will be legal action against those who violate the rules and regulations.

To ensure the health and safety of the pilgrims, the Civil Defense Fire and Safety Oversight Teams will conduct comprehensive field and inspection tours of all government agencies and commercial establishments in the holy sites to ensure that LPG is not used in Mina, Musdalifah and Arafat. The decision to ban cooking gas was taken to minimize the risk of fires until the Hajj is completed.
