Cairo: A devastating flash flood in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern region has claimed one life, while three others were rescued. The incident occurred in a wadi (valley) east of Tanomah Governorate after heavy rains caused flooding. Four individuals were traveling in a vehicle when it was submerged. Rescuers managed to save three, who are now in stable condition, while the body of the deceased was found hours later at the Wadi Tarj dam.
The Saudi National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has warned of continued heavy rains and thunderstorms across several regions until Sunday. The Makkah region, including Taif, is expected to see heavy rainfall, while moderate to heavy rains are also forecast for the Madinah region and the eastern provinces today and tomorrow.
