PASSENGER'S PHONE STOLEN ; DUBAI AIRPORT PORTER SENTENCED TO THREE MONTHS IN JAIL

Dubai :  A porter at the Dubai airport who stole mobile phones from a passenger's suitcase has been sentenced to three months in prison. On investigation, it was found that he had stolen six mobile phones from a passenger's bag.


The porter stole the phones of a passenger who was on his way home via Dubai airport. The passenger came to know about the phones being stolen when he reached home. He returned to Dubai after his vacation and lodged a complaint about the theft at the Dubai Airport Police Station. The complaint was filed along with the serial number of the lost phones.

Then the police identified the accused Porter after checking the CCTV footage of the airport. The police, who came to arrest him with a warrant from the public prosecution, found sunglasses and other expensive items in one of the stolen phones. Porter admitted to stealing the phones and selling them at the store. He was then charged with theft.
