Qatar Celebrates Family Day with Citywide Green Illuminations

Doha: Qatar celebrated Family Day on April 15 by illuminating major buildings across the capital city in green lights, symbolizing unity and the importance of family in societal development.

As part of the annual observance, various ministries, public sector organizations, primary health centers, and private company offices participated in the lighting campaign. Family Day, observed every year in Qatar on April 15, aims to raise awareness about the crucial role families play in building a prosperous and sustainable society while preserving cultural and traditional values.

This year, the Ministry of Social Development and Family, along with institutions such as Qatar Museums, Wefaq, the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), and Katara Cultural Village, organized seminars and competitions to engage the community. These events highlighted the family’s role in social stability and sustainable development.

Buildings belonging to the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Public Health, General Tax Authority, Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Electricity and Water Authority, Qatar News Agency, Qatar Central Bank, Qatar National Bank, Lusail Plaza, and DECC were all illuminated in green as part of the celebration.
