Cairo: As preparations for Hajj 2025 begin, Saudi Arabia has outlined essential health requirements for all workers participating in the pilgrimage season. The Makkah Municipality has directed workers to obtain seasonal health certificates through the official Balady platform: https://balady.gov.sa/ar.
To qualify for the certificate, applicants must undergo medical examinations at authorized labor testing centers and successfully complete a mandatory health education course. The course includes three key subjects: food safety, shaving hygiene, and general public health practices.
The seasonal health certificate will remain valid until the 15th of Muharram, which falls on July 10. Authorities have urged all personnel to complete the process in a timely manner to ensure their eligibility to work during the Hajj season.
In a related move, the Saudi General Directorate of Passports announced the opening of online permit applications in mid-April for residents involved in Hajj-related work. These can be processed through the Ministry of Interior’s digital platforms “Absher” and “Mukhim.”
The new guidelines reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to public health and safety during one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
