SPREAD OF COVID IN QATAR DECREASED

Doha: As the spread of covid in Qatar slowed significantly, concessions were announced, including the wearing of a mask. Exemptions from wearing masks are allowed subject to conditions in open public places. But masks are mandatory in closed public places.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan. The Cabinet examined the report submitted by the Supreme Committee on the current situation in the country. The new decisions will take effect on October 3.

Everyone should continue to wear masks in closed public places, such as buildings. However, wearing a mask in the open will be subject to conditions. Masks are still mandatory at public events, exhibitions and other events held in markets and other venues. Masks should also be worn in the vicinity of churches, schools, universities and hospitals.

Conditions include those who work in the open and those who have to talk to customers and wear masks throughout the work. For whatever reason, the Ihtiras app should still be enabled on mobile phones when leaving home.
