EXPATS DEMAND FOR UMRAH PILGRIMAGES IS ON THE RISE

The Hajj and Umrah offices are seeing a spike in demand from foreigners for Umrah trip reservations during the academic midyear holidays, according to sources in the travel and tourism sector. They explained that specialised companies are selling nine-day Umrah packages for a price ranging from KD 215 to KD 290. 


In the case of requests for specific hotels, additional services, or a higher class of travel, the cost would surpass KD 290. The KD 219 pricing is for hotel reservations in selected hotels with a maximum capacity of 4 people per room. When the number of people in each room is reduced, the cost gradually rises until it reaches KD 290 for a single room for the duration of the stay. In addition to transportation, the package price includes the cost of a visa, lodging, and round-trip plane tickets. The cost of the PCR test required by the health authorities is not covered by the companies.
