Doha: Government offices and schools have also changed working hours in Qatar as preparations to host the World Cup football matches are complete. The cabinet meeting last week took such a decision to avoid traffic jams during the World Cup.

From November 1, only 20 percent of the government employees will appear in the offices in person. Others will work from residences. The functioning of government offices will be like this till December 19.

The working time of the employees who can be present in the offices has been reduced to four hours. Their working hours will be from 7 am to 11 am. Sections like security, military, health and education have been exempted from this decision. Private sector companies will also operate as normal.

The working hours of schools have also been reduced from November 1 to 17. Schools will be open from 7 am to noon. Then the schools will be closed from November 18 to December 22. Officials have also announced that the main Corniche road along the Doha Seafront will be closed from November 1. A special fan zone for football fans will be constructed here.
