Manara Robot Unveiled at Grand Mosque to Answer Religious Questions in Multiple Languages

  • 08/03/2025

A state-of-the-art AI-powered robot, named "Manara Robot," has been introduced at Islam’s holiest site in Mecca to provide instant religious guidance to worshippers in several languages.

The initiative, led by Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, Head of the Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques, aligns with Saudi Arabia’s smart digital transformation efforts to enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors.

Traditionally, religious inquiries at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque were addressed in person by clerics, later shifting to phone-based consultations and online platforms. Now, the Manara Robot revolutionizes the process by delivering immediate and accurate responses to religious queries.

The robot's design is inspired by Islamic architectural elements, reflecting the heritage of the Two Holy Mosques. It is part of a broader AI-driven initiative, which includes other guidance robots introduced by Saudi authorities to serve believers in different languages during Ramadan.
