Jeddah/Dubai: The Shawwal moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, confirming that Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow (Sunday) across most Gulf countries. The moon was sighted in Thumair, marking the end of Ramadan.
However, Oman will observe Eid al-Fitr on Monday as the crescent moon was not sighted. The Supreme Court of Oman had urged citizens to observe the moon sighting and report any confirmations.
Eid prayers in Saudi Arabia will be held 15 minutes after sunrise, with provisions to shift prayers indoors in case of rain. The UAE has also confirmed Eid celebrations for Sunday, with official holidays set from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3.
