Riyadh: As the Hajj 2025 season approaches, Saudi authorities have imposed temporary restrictions on hotel accommodations in Mecca. According to a directive from the Ministry of Tourism, hotels in the holy city are prohibited from accepting guests who do not hold either a Hajj permit or a Mecca entry permit.
This rule will come into effect on April 29 and is part of broader efforts to ensure the safety, comfort, and orderly movement of pilgrims during the sacred season. The ministry has issued an emergency circular to all accommodation facilities in Mecca, emphasizing strict compliance.
Violators of this directive will face severe penalties under the Tourism Law and its associated regulations. In addition, foreign residents currently in Mecca have been given until April 29 to vacate the city.
This year’s Hajj is scheduled to begin in the first week of June, and various measures are being rolled out to manage the influx of pilgrims effectively.
