World’s First AI Doctor Clinic Opens in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has made history by opening the world’s first AI-powered doctor clinic, marking a significant leap in medical innovation. Launched in April through a collaboration between Shanghai-based medical technology company Xinyi AI and Al-Moosa Health Group, the clinic aims to make AI the first point of contact for diagnosis and treatment, while still involving human doctors as safety gatekeepers.

At the clinic, patients interact with an AI doctor named "Dr. Hu" using a tablet. Like a real doctor, the AI asks follow-up questions and analyzes medical data and images with the support of human professionals. After the consultation, Dr. Hu suggests a treatment plan, which is reviewed and approved by a human doctor.

Currently, the AI clinic is limited to diagnosing respiratory illnesses such as asthma and pharyngitis — covering around 30 conditions. However, Xinyi AI plans to expand its database to include up to 50 respiratory, gastrointestinal, and dermatological conditions.

This groundbreaking initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to integrating advanced technology in healthcare, improving accessibility and accuracy in medical services, and setting new standards for global health systems.
