Saudi Arabia has announced an ambitious target to attract 50 million international tourists annually by 2030. The announcement was made by Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.

This goal is a central pillar of the kingdom's Vision 2030 blueprint, which seeks to diversify the national economy beyond oil. The strategy specifically targets the mid-market segment of travelers. Minister Al Khateeb revealed that the country aims to double the tourism sector's contribution to its GDP to 10% within the next five years.

The push is already showing momentum; last year, Saudi Arabia welcomed 11.6 million visitors, who spent a total of 26 billion riyals. To support this growth, the government has secured partnerships with numerous international tourism companies and established new air travel routes connecting the kingdom to 20 major global cities.
