UNION MINISTER V.MURALEEDHARAN MET WITH QATARI MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN DOHA

Doha: Minister of State for External Affairs V.S. Muraleedharan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al Muraiki. 


He said the discussions on various issues such as energy, trade, investment and education were constructive. He said the meeting was aimed at strengthening India-Qatar ties. 

The Minister was received in Doha on Sunday afternoon by the Indian Ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal and senior delegation from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the evening, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with representatives of the Indian Cultural Center, the Indian Community Benevolent Forum and other organizations in Doha. During his three-day visit, he will hold an official meeting with Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as with Shura Council President Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghani.

The Indian pavilion will be inaugurated by the Minister at the Doha Jewelery and Watches Exhibition on Monday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. He will then meet the Indian fishermen at Al Wakrah at 6 pm. He will also be the chief guest at the Labor Day celebrations at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium at 7.30pm. ICBF is organizing an extensive program involving Indian workers. He will also visit the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, one of Qatar's World Cup venues, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
