QATAR HAS SCRAPPED A PCR TEST FOR EXPATS AND CITIZENS WHO WERE VACCINATED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL

Qatar has revised its travel and return policy to exempt its nationals and foreign visitors from pre-arrival PCR testing, following a substantial drop in COVID-19 infection rates in the country.

Citizens and expatriates who have not been vaccinated or who are travelling from one of Qatar's Red List countries must submit to PCR testing 48 hours prior to departure.

This need does not apply to Qatari citizens and international residents who have been properly immunised, regardless of their origin country.

As a result of a considerable decrease in coronavirus infections in Qatar, coronavirus-related restrictions were eased this month. Face masks are no longer necessary to be worn in public places, and public meetings are now permitted. Citizens and expatriates are only required to wear face masks in enclosed areas such as mosques, educational institutions, and hospitals, according to this rule.

Inside a wedding hall, it is now unlawful to have more than 150 fully vaccinated people and 20 unvaccinated people. There can be 300 individuals vaccinated and 50 people unvaccinated in an outdoor venue.

In the interim, commercial centres are permitted to reopen to full capacity, including the admission of unvaccinated individuals.
