Doha: At a nearby plant in Qatar, a group of armed men shot and killed 29 dogs. Outrage over the occurrence has resulted in a discussion on social media.

The attackers said their sons had been bitten by dogs. According to PAWS Animal Rescue Center on Sunday, the group invaded the factory, shot 29 dogs, and injured a number of others, according to a story in Doha News.

The event has not received any comments from Qatari officials yet. The incident has been criticised and labelled "unacceptable" by Sheikha Al Mayasa bint Hamad Al Thani, the sister of Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. According to local media, the armed guys made their way inside the factory by threatening the security guards inside.

"Security team was rightfully scared as two of the men were holding guns. The security team tried to stop the men from shooting a group of beautiful friendly neutered dogs, but they realised that they were also putting themselves in danger also," the animal rescue centre said in an Instagram post.

The dogs and puppies were shot in front of the security team. The rescue shelter mentioned that one puppy is fighting for his life at the vet, it added.
